The porch is poured.

The restoration of an 1893 Victorian house....in 6 months!

In 2011-2012 we restored our 1893 Victorian house in Ogden, Utah. We had approximately 6 months to renovate the home and close out the FHA renovation mortgage that we used to finance the project. Luckily, we have some gracious friends and family who helped us on a daily basis and an amazing contractor who managed the project and handled all the technical details. We finished the renovation and moved into the home in February 2012. This blog chronicled the historic restoration process and is still used to share updates on smaller projects. The plan....what we did

Insulate, Insulate, Insulate!
Added new 1/2 bath near back door on 1st level
Added stairs to side door off kitchen
All new electrical
All new plumbing
Converted 4th bedroom on 2nd level to a master bath
Installed cedar fence on side of house that has fallen down
Installled new hardwood floors on first level
New concrete front porch
New Exterior doors
New gutters and downspouts
New HVAC (partial overhaul)
New Soffit and Fascia
Painted Exterior
Painted Interior
Re-installed old rod iron fence in front of house
Refinished Hardwood Floors on 2nd level
Restored original wood windows
Restored stained glass on 2nd level
Restored structure of back porch
Total Kitchen remodel
